Keto Almond Crackers

Keto Almond Crackers

It seems like every time I talk to someone, they or someone they know have gone on Keto. It’s like that vegan wave a few years ago. Funny how complete opposites these two trends are.

Although I am not on Keto (nor do I think I will ever– I love carbs WAY too much, plus I developed an attachment to my sourdough starter), I do like the idea of using more nutrient dense ingredients. Not to mention, it’s fun! It’s too easy to fall back on making things with flour. So here you go, here is an easy, peasy 4 ingredient recipe for Almond Crackers– keto-friendly!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg

Optional: seasoning mix

  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • Combine together almond flour, salt and any other dry ingredients together. Scramble the egg and mix into the almond flour mixture until a dough forms.
  • Transfer dough onto a baking mat or parchment paper. Using your hands, press the dough down into a rough rectangle. Lay a plastic wrap over the top and using a rolling pin, roll out the dough until it is about 1/4cm thick. Using a fork, dot the dough with holes. Then using a knife, cut the dough into squares.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden. Half way through the baking, take the half baked crackers out and break them into smaller chunks and space them so they can evenly cook. Put it back in the oven to finish baking.
  • Remove from oven and let the crackers cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet. Then, using your hands, breaking them up along the lines you cut! Enjoy or let cool further and store in an airtight container.
